Freddie's Featured Fiction

Each year we try to create a schoolwide shared reading experience around a selected story. Over the course of several weeks, classes will read and discuss elements of the book and use it to ground instruction. For example, classes may review unfamiliar words, discuss how they would handle some of the situations the main characters find themselves in and do activities tied to the story. This is also a great opportunity for parents to read along and have conversations with their students about the book.

During Read Across America Week, classes will finish reading the book and we'll host a celebration themed around the story they read. Stay tuned for details for this year's featured fiction selection and schedule.
